Bresh' teth
Added: 0000-00-00
Synopsis: Bresh' teth is a One Language curse that infers "betrayal from within" though its exact translation would be expansive. Some have compared it to the shock that would surround the piercing of a mother's womb by the infant within.

Bresh' teth has been the name given to the rising of the Glory of Graeth'al against the Elish monarchy and government and is marked in the Almanac. On the fourth day of the cycle of Wolves of each year, no member of the Glory is allowed to set foot out of doors on penalty of death.

Broon, The
Added: 0000-00-00
Synopsis: The Broon are a smaller race from across the Blue Beyond. Encountered only a handful of times, our greatest source of information can be gleened from the translated writings of the Woodlander scholar Lerrin:

"... seem to be a short, thieving race with skin black as paruba ink. They are hairless and seem to be missing a finger on each hand. Also, there is what appears to be an opposable digit located on the heel of each foot. It is my summation that this explains their significant tree-climbing ability. My observation of this species have been few and far between due to their cowardly nature and what seems to be a limited racial ability to wield the power of air to meld their appearance to blend into their environment. I have received a copy of a report from a captain of the Crest Rider vessel Wavewalker that contains some possible insights into their culture. It seems that social status is based on size of the individual, the taller having the greater standing. What is most striking about this is that size is enhanced through the use of what the captain called the angava bulb. He detailed in his report that this particular plant bulb is the basis of their primitive economy. It seems to provide some unknown nutrient that stimulates growth in the Broon. As a result of this, its use is strictly controlled by what sounds similar to a despotic form of clan-like rule. My most shocking revalation, however, is that the description of said bulb bears a striking resemblance to that of the common tulip and this could offer significant diplomatic advantage to us were we to open diplomatic ties with their race."

Overall, the tales of the Broon tend to be sinister in nature and their very name is used to frighten insolent children. The Crest Rider saying that, "On seeing one Broon, it should be assumed that one hundred more are waiting just out of sight." should be consider sound advice.

Brothers of the Shadow
Added: 0000-00-00
Synopsis: The Brothers of the Shadow are the Mydoran Thieves Guild. Controlled until recently by the Overseer Hemlock, they now answer to Wrayles, the most mysterious of the Overseers. With a constant choice of wearing masks, it is rumored that his identity is not even known by his own Second. A notable trait of the Brothers of the Shadow is that all members are given a new name voted upon by the existing members after their membership has crossed one full season. For example, the current membership includes Relic, Sononta, Marmoset, Drake, Mahogany, Havoc and Hound.

Chrysalids, The
Added: 0000-00-00
Synopsis: The Chrysalids comprise the elite backbone of the Elish navy, ruthlessly trained from the age of eight, They are considered to be surpassed only by the Black Trillium in expertise though this should be taken on a per soldier basis rather than a generalization. They are excellent hand to hand combatants and have traditionally been used for ship boardings, establishing landing sites in enemy territory and as advanced scouts. Particular emphasis is placed on the train of balance. It is because of this that comparisons such as "...like a Chrysalid on a barrel..." refer to being in a difficult situation but handling it with ease.

Added: 0000-00-00

Colius
Added: 0000-00-00
Synopsis: Many works have been written concerning the man that history calls Colius but few summarize him in such eloquence as this passage by the scholar Talvik of the Woodlanders:

"The man known simply as Colius (pronounced 'CO-lee-us') is a true study into the culture of the Vor' Ozlans. Born the bastard first son of Sovereign Kledric Vor' Marais, his social status was eqivalent of only the peasant class. Following the tradition of culture, he lacked a last name as all bastards in their culture do. Through his own strength of will, he rose to the upper echelon of the Order of the Blade and would be considered at least the equal in sword ability to any of the Black Trillium of the Elish military. Due to his father's lineage however, he had powerful elemental control and the combination of the two made him a potentially deadly adversary. On rising to the top level of the Order of the Blade, his father Kledric bequeathed Craken'rex, the sword Power's Gate to him. Most of the Ozlerian people were shocked at this acknowledgement of a bastard but others saw this as an attempt to placate the renegade before he moved against his father. Perhaps it was simply an act of a proud father. Unfortunately, Kledric failed to live long after the gesture, succumbing to a strange illness that quickly robbed him of breath and finally life. As a man, Colius is a lone wolf. A hardened man raised in a harsh culture, he seems to have harboured a deep hate of his culture's attitude toward him and others born in the same circumstance."

To be certain, he is one of the pivotal figures in Elish history even if Vor' Ozlan women deem to use his name to frighten their disobediant children.
